AAE20

The April AAE Annual meeting in Nashville, TN was canceled due to COVID-19 mandates to prevent transmission of the virus. June 2nd & 3rd, 2020 was the first Virtual AAE Annual Conference where dental professionals could attend courses for continuing education credits. There was even a virtual exhibit hall to talk with vendors between the courses.

I was able to obtain 6.5 hrs of CE credits. Dentists must attend a certain number of continuing education courses annually in order to maintain their dental license. This requirement varies by state, and for Washington state the requirement was recently changed January 1, 2019 to require 63 hours every 3 years. There was also a recent additional 3 hour requirement for courses on the topics of suicide prevention and opioid prescribing. Find out more about Washington CDE requirements here.
